Our role is to stimulate, support, promote and participate in creativity and Community Cultural Development.
‘Community Cultural Development or CCD is a participatory process which draws out a community’s inherent knowledge through creative means to acknowledge, preserve or enhance that community’s culture.’ Community Arts Network, 19/5/99
The Victoria Park Centre for the Arts has developed into a community celebration
and an artistic showcase for increasing numbers of visitors and is now a focus
point for the Town of Victoria Park and neighbouring communities.
Victoria Park Centre for the Arts is an incorporated organisation therefore is overseen by an Executive Management Committee. This committee is made up of members of the VPAC elected according to the Constitution. It consists of Executive and Committee members making decisions at a monthly meeting which ordinary members may attend and other interested people can be invited to attend. It is the role of the Committee to oversee and maintain a sustainable financial base from which to operate and to progress the objectives of the association. The Executive Management Committee also endeavours to be a progressive group that manages the affairs of the Centre effectively and efficiently with a sense of integrity, respect, inclusion and consideration for members, volunteers and staff, the Town of Victoria Park, corporate business partners, and interest holders.
