Beyond the Fence garden project; water wall and pathway.
BEYOND THE FENCE PROJECT- is a Victoria Park Centre for the Arts community art project, coordinated by artists Cynthia Breman Rooke and Jonine Kaiser, with community participation in creating tiles and designs for pathway in the Art Centre garden. The project focuses on creating a sensory garden with touch, site, hearing, smell and taste being evoked with various art pieces and plants. Beyond the Fence also includes objects created in the Mark Making project run by Nulsen Haven. Students from Kent Street High School, participants at Beronia Womens Refuge and various community members contributed to the designs and tiles for the project. Sharing the Dreaming workshop discussed various Indigenous culture and dreaming stories which added to the content for the path. Funded by Community Arts Network of WA.

MARK MAKING- directed by Patti Ferber of Nulsen Haven and artist Kathy Evans; participants have been creating lovely clay pieces for a water feature at Nulsen Haven and at the Art Centre. The clay pieces are glazed and fired, and create a lovely coral reef effect in the garden. The project was part of an initiative for community inclusion for Nulsen Haven participants and to build more objects to tantilize the senses for the Beyond the Fence project at the Art Centre. The Mark Making project has been possible by funding received through Nulsen Haven from ACROD.
